Kulim receives its maiden batch of Plantation workers from Indonesia

ULU TIRAM, 23 June 2022: Kulim (Malaysia) Berhad (Kulim) welcomes its first post-pandemic batch of plantation workers from Lombok, Indonesia. The 37 workers arrived Wednesday at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) on Air Asia QZ463 at 6.15 pm.

Fairuz Ismail, Kulim’s Chief Operating Officer, and Mohamad Yami Bakar, Head of Plantation, greeted the 37 workers at KLIA and brought them to Kulim Eco-Trail Retreat, Johor, for their induction programme.

“We welcome the first batch of plantation workers to Kulim. After two years of the pandemic, we can now expect more workers to arrive while adhering to the stringent processes and procedures,” said Fairuz.

The group also met Farisa Rahmadhani, Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia, Johor Bahru, who was the guest of honour at the induction programme.
